Slow stitching is the process of adding decoration to fabric using applique, embellishments and simple embroidery stitches. In this slow stitching class, you will create an 8”X 8” wall hanging complete with backing and hanging loops. The finished wall hanging includes a whimsical hanger. The student will learn how to choose fabric and cut appliques to hand stitch onto a base fabric. .utilizing several different embroidery stitches. This class is all hand sewing. The student will be introduced to a new portable textile skill using upcycled fabrics, embellishments and backing a small piece of fabric. The instructor will provide a kit containing all fabric, applique cut out shapes, embroidery floss, stitching needle and hanger.
